Painting with Watercolor
in Trôo, France
May 27 - June 3, 2023
With Paul George

Taught in English

Join us for a very special painting week in Trôo, a uniquely beautiful troglodyte village in the Loire Valley, with lodging in a lovely 18th century château.  The Château de la Voûte is located within the village but discreetly tucked away in a gorgeous private setting offering magnificent views over the river Loir.

Paul George, who has won over 100 awards, including the Awards of Excellence from the National Watercolor Society and two Gold and a Bronze Medal from the New England Watercolor Society, will lead the workshop, painting "en plein air" at sites in and around Trôo.  Paul writes: "I am so excited to return to France and am looking forward to exploring the Loire valley and its charming villages for a wonderful week-long workshop. We will begin each day with a demonstration, discovering the warm light in the village of Trôo and the surrounding area.  After a quick lunch we will find another beautiful spot to paint and end the day with a relaxed but informative critique of the day's work.  Join me for this wonderful week of painting and good friends."  Check out Paul George's demo videos on YouTube.

Three delicious farm-to-table traditional French dinners will be served at the Château, as well as breakfast each day.  Lunch will either be a picnic lunch, or a bistro lunch when we are offsite.  A Welcome wine and cheese soirée on Saturday night, a mid-week farmhouse dinner and a Farewell gastronomique dinner at a wonderful restaurant on Friday night are also included.

We will be walking up and down hills -- participants should be comfortable with carrying their gear on steep slopes, footpaths and stairs.  Not recommended for people with limited mobility.
