2019 Plein Air Salon Grand Prize Winner Tom Hughes has been a professional artist for 28 years and over the last five years has been teaching painting workshops in France and Spain with Plein Air Holidays.  He paints figures, portraits and landscapes in various media: oil, acrylic, watercolor and alkyd.  In 2017, Hughes was invited to become a member of the Plein Air Painters of America.  His work has been featured in Plein Air magazine, American Artist Watercolor magazine and Fine Art Connoisseur.

This Sunday, February 9 Tom will offer a free urban landscape painting demo near his painting studio in Oakland. Catching the immediate impression of the scene is one of the things that spectators love about Tom's demos. After the demonstration the group is invited back to Tom's studio to enjoy a glass of wine and learn more about Plein Air Holidays painting workshops in Europe.
